We’re pleased to publish the post event report for Opportunity East: Infrastructure & Investment Conference, which we held earlier this year in Ipswich.
Building on the success of last year’s inaugural event, the conference, chaired by Jack Abbott MP, brought together public and private sector leaders, industry experts, and regional stakeholders to help shape the future of infrastructure in the East of England.
The conference heard keynote speeches from leading organisations shaping major investment across the region, from airport expansion and major grid upgrades to transformative international visitor economy projects.
A devolution-focused panel discussed how to sustain momentum and set up mayoral authorities for success in the wake of the delayed mayoral elections, drawing on lessons from the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority.
The report captures the momentum of the day, providing several key takeaways from the workshops sessions where attendees discussed five infrastructure related challenge statements affecting the East.
With a strong pipeline of projects ahead, it builds a cumulative picture of where the region stands, what needs to change, and how it can strengthen its voice within the national agenda.
